“ The performance is based on the novel of the same name by Anatoly Mariengof. The director, Maxim Lado (Maxim Lakomkin), reacted very carefully to the text of the work. It seems that not a single word is deleted from the book. The performance was very strong. At some point I wanted to cry. You are experiencing all the difficulties of the post-revolutionary period. That time, when instead of a bouquet of flowers, ladies of hearts were given a bag of potatoes, everyone could be caught, shot, planted. The production follows the traditions of the theater (those who have been here at least once will understand what I mean): transitions, bright lights, strong artists, interesting musical accompaniment. The scenery is interesting and concise. They are curtains of letters, causing an association with the recent exhibition in Moscow, Jaume Plensa. I sincerely love the troupe of the Theater in the Southwest. All the artists dance brilliantly, fencing, get accustomed to any role. They are able to realize even the boldest idea of the director !! Here, for me, from a completely new perspective, Andrei Kudzin opened up, playing the role of Vladimir. His sincere gaze in love at the beginning of the performance, and broken - at the end .... Andrei has a lot of monologues in this production. Each of them creates a strong emotional intensity. I was also impressed by Olga Avilova, who looked at us in a childlike, sincere, open look. I didn’t even recognize Karina Dymont right away. So she joined the image of Marfushi. It turned out to be especially touching. They are all trying to survive in this world that seems to have gone crazy. The performance really impressed me. After watching, I wanted to read Mariegof’s novel, and to study this era better) Congratulations to the Theater in the South-West with a strong premiere and a new director !!! Maxim Lado's debut was a success!)
