"Helver's Night" is a psychological drama in the center of which the family is the mother and son.
They have a slight age difference of 10 years. Carla adopted Helver as a boy
with a diagnosis of mental retardation, he is now 30 years old.
Gelver has his own universe, in which he strives to become not so ... And so that in the head it was not so ... Be happy and fit. Be courageous and smart. Family warmth is what this adult child needs. Every day he needs to take pills and go every three months with Carla to the qualification commission. His view of the world is that of a child. He loves to play toy soldiers and retells directly terrible events that take place on the street.
The performance immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of the working town of the Sudeten region of Czechoslovakia in 1938. When was the cruel and the merciless surge of nationalism. Unfortunately, the topics that the author raises are relevant in our time.
The play was written by Ingmar Wilkvist, a Polish playwright and professor at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.
The director is Maxim Karateev, artistic director of the Peredelkino Theater.
