Karaoke performance based on the tale of V. Shukshin

The action of "Energetic People" takes place in the 70s of the last century. The heroes of the play are adventurers, speculators and "improvisers" of the era of social realism. They call themselves “energetic people” - and indeed, their energy, inventiveness and enterprise can be envied. And, in general, they are not bad people, as Shukshin himself says about them, - just all their boiling energy is spent on arranging their own wealth and abundance, which cannot be achieved by legal means. And everything in the life of the protagonist Aristarkh Petrovich Kuzkin and his associates went very well - until something happened that no one expected ...

Conceiving the production, Sergei Bezrukov deliberately did not endure the action in our day, on the contrary, he emphasizes the well-known signs of that time, from scarce furniture and carpets to fashionable hairstyles and pop songs. But still, a performance based on a work by Vasily Shukshin is not just a nostalgic stylization of that era, it is an attempt with irony, humor to look at its past and see in it the features of our time.

Sergey Bezrukov: “I started the rehearsals of the performance based on the story of Vasily Makarovich Shukshin“ Energetic People ”, the work is already in full swing. The main characters are speculators. Someone will say that the topic is outdated, there are no speculators now, this is not true! There are speculators, they just call them differently now, and their field of activity is much wider than that of the Shukshin "energetic people." We carefully recreate in our performance the atmosphere of those years, the bourgeois life, of which there are many references in the text of Shukshin. There will be a set of "Ramona", and other scarce things: caviar, champagne, brandy, elite varieties of sausage - everything that characterizes the era of the 70s. This is the time of my childhood, about which the memories are the brightest and most nostalgic - although in my family, of course, there was not all the deficit that energetic people are rich with. I was born in 1973, and I remember that time well: it is in the old photos of parents, where mother with closed eyes in the then fashion style, these are hairstyles with chignons, and shirts with a sharp collar, flared pants - for me all this is childhood memories .

It will be a bright, musical, energetic performance. A lot of humor, satire, vivid images, types, and favorite songs of all, without which no feast of the 70s could do. I came up with a new genre for this production - karaoke performance. The genre originated from the title itself. Energetic people - energy, drive ... They are not just grabbers - they are very creative, inventive people, sort of modern Benders, "great improvisers". They live energetically, driving, and therefore the idea arose to make an ensemble - the VIA "Energetic People", which sets the action rhythm, drive. It is important for me that they are in principle quite good people. But, like Bulgakov, “they were spoiled by the housing problem.” The energies are mass, they would really invent, improvise and earn honest money on it - but the way of life itself forces them to live exactly the way they live. And, it would seem, this era is in the past, but much is consonant with our time: people, relationships, problems are the same. ”
