The play "Suicide" based on the play by Nikolai Erdman is the directorial debut of young actress Ekaterina Dubakina, who is studying the history of the rapid transformation of an insignificant inhabitant into an almost mythological hero.
Ekaterina Dubakina about the play: "This production arose as an independent work. I invited my colleagues to rehearse this material together, in autumn we showed the art director half of the performance, and in February - the final version. For me, this is a play about the choice, about finding yourself. A free man has the real power to say "no" to what is planted by society in the guise of self-sacrifice. He chooses the way he goes, after the trials realizing that there is nothing more precious than his own life. "
In the play, Alfred Schnittke's music, Too Many Zooz, the melody from the song "Evening Bell", and the song "Confession" by Mikhail Krug in the original arrangement of George Mansurov are heard.
