Anna Snegina is an autobiographical poem by Sergei Yesenin.
1917 year. The Russian Empire is reared in the February revolution. Sergei deserts from the front line. He flees to his native village, but the new realities shocked the centuries-old foundations of peasant life and there is no long-awaited peace even in a remote village far from the front. Deprived of fate, impoverished to the limit, peasants with hidden anger look at the prosperous village of Radovo. Small skirmishes portend a terrible civil war of all against all. Against the backdrop of universal hatred, the story of the first love of the young ladies Anna and Sergey Yesenin is especially lyrical and gentle.
The play "Anna Snegina" is the confession of the protagonist into which fragments of dreams and memories float. The interweaving of Anna Snegina's poems, Sorokoust and opera vocals gives the viewer the opportunity to stop, breathe out, think, and hear the echo of a bygone era. UNITY theater invites you to take this exciting journey together with talented actors and plunge into the world of pulsating poetry by Sergey Yesenin.
