Many years ago, director Alexander Morfov staged a performance on one of the great books of mankind - Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. It was a brilliant performance in which the director formulated the philosophy of “quixotic”, showed how a myth is born out of reality. Almost 20 years have passed and Alexander Morfov again turned to the great text, now to the masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance - “The Decameron” by Giovanni Boccaccio.

665 years have passed since the publication of one of the great books of humanity “The Decameron”. This anniversary will celebrate the entire cultural world community, and the performance of the theater is a kind of dedication to such a grand jubilee. More than six centuries have passed, and the Boccaccio's short stories live, continue to excite, evoke emotions, new thoughts. It is unlikely that there is even a little bit an educated person who would never have heard of this name. For many, the Decameron is only erotic stories, and for those who appreciate their poetry, these are marvelous tales of love, it’s not for nothing that Boccaccio in Italian culture ranks with Petrarch and Dante.

"... and understand how holy, mighty and how good the powers of love are filled, which many condemn and vilify extremely unfairly, not knowing what they are saying," wrote Boccaccio in the Decameron. What is the performance of Alexander Morfov? Of course, about love. But love during the plague, when the “black death” lurks everyone and releases only 10 days of life. What can be done in these ten days?
