This is a vividly twisted political comedy intrigue based on a love story. According to the plot of the action, we see that "small" personal interests are leading the country's history, that for the sake of love, high positions and laws of parliament are not important, that the fate of a person depends on insignificant and unpredictable emotions.

The play is filled with a brilliant cast, the main roles in the production are Ekaterina Klimova, Olga Tumaykina, Liza Arzamasova, Philip Bledny, Sergei Aldonin and others.

The action begins with a court opera and grows into a detective. The detective turns into a famously twisted love affair. Further takes on a bright comedy, bringing the storyline to farce and grotesque with elements of the carnival show. Closer to the finale, the love line acquires the traces of a tragic farce.

The visual brightness of the performance is emphasized by the dance numbers of the court ballet in the style of Louis the Fourteenth. The choreographer of the play is Alexander Matsko, one of the best pupils of Roman Viktyuk.

The musical director of the performance was Natalie Plege, who designed many plays and modern ballets in France and Russia. The bright scenography and lush court costumes were made by the chief artist of the Vakhtangov Theater Maxim Obrezkov.
