“ An excellent setting, in which Ostrovsky's modern reading is enough (the performance starts from the stage of "knocking out" money from Paratov with the help of an iron) very accurately and harmoniously shows all the nuances of the classical work. The drama really sounds in a new way. It is very interesting to observe the symbolic series of the play: attention to the physical, material in the person is drawn through the image of the food scenes, the motive of the pure soul, the proximity of the heroes is realized through appeal to water, the iron symbolizes mistakes and dangers that lie in wait for the actors. These seemingly small details make viewing the performance more exciting. Separately it is necessary to say about the scenography: the scenery is magnificent. They do not overload the stage space, but at the same time create the feeling that the characters are on the boat or in the house. And, of course, the actor's game is beautiful. I would especially like to mention Vsevolod Makarov in the role of Vozhevatov, who looks so different at the beginning of the play and at the end, actually revealing himself to the viewer as the only person close to Larissa.
