The tragedy of Shespira or reflections on the relationship of a man and a woman?
Usually, when we come across Macbeth, we view it as the story of an ambitious woman who spurred her husband to a bloody crime, for the sake of the power she craved. For the sake of power, which could serve to satisfy her ambitions.
But is it really just everything in this work? Maybe we should look at it from a slightly different angle?
Just as Luke Perceval did, a European director who put his Macbeth on the stage of the Baltic House Theater.
For him it is primarily the history of relations between men and women.
Relationships out of which love has gone. No, she was, so bright, maddening that even when she disappeared, her ghost, memories of her can not let them go, forcing to stick together.
And this emptiness, saturated with the shadows of past passions, absorbs them, pushes them to search for something that could fill it, sate it with new strong feelings ... And this is something that turns out to be power.
Power, which you just need to take from others.
